Introduction

Introduction:

UAIM and Maahad Tahfiz is an independent non-profit charitable organization recognized by UNHCR Malaysia which is based in Puchong, Selangor and both were founded by Ustaz Sayed Mohammed in 2016 and 2018. Thousands of children who don’t have access to formal education in Malaysia are most likely Refugee and underprivileged children. We focus on refugee children education in Malaysia.

Terror, persecution, violent oppression, genocide and torture abruptly shattered their lives, the futures they had prepared and the hopes and dreams they held in their homelands. Education for children of refugees is an absolute and unwavering obligation. According to the United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees, less than 40 per cent of school-age refugee children in Malaysia have access to educational programmes. The few who do attend classes rely on informal programmes run by non-governmental organisations or members of their own communities. They’re not allowed access to formal schools due to Malaysia’s idiosyncratic classification of their status in the country. Denying the children of refugee access to education imposes upon them a disadvantage future, a continuation of their victimisation. So, UAIM is closely working with refugee and underserved communities to ensure their education by providing Primary and secondary education and build trust in them that their education rights respected and they are being valued in the host country. As a non-profit organization, UAIM relies solely on funding and donations from organizations and generous individual donors. So, please come forward to support UAIM to help refugee and underprivileged children as well as refugee and underserved communities.

UAIM provide quality education and assistance to poor refugee families and underserved communities in Malaysia and outside Malaysia. Children from refugee and underserved communities are unable to show their potential as they lag behind in formal education. It is important to remember that refugees are not expatriates, migrants, immigrants or tourists in Malaysia. Refugees sought refuge here through a portal of extreme trauma. They never planned to be here, but the country’s situation compelled them to be here.
