UAIM Qurban Project
“Revive the Spirit of Eid – Feed the Forgotten, Share the Blessings.”
Three Countries. One Ummah. One Qurban.
Every year, United Arakan Institute Malaysia (UAIM) carries out the Qurban Project to distribute fresh meat to the most vulnerable refugee families in Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Malaysia—families who otherwise have no access to meat throughout the year, not even during Eid al-Adha.
This sacred act of sacrifice, rooted in the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), is not only a form of worship—it is a lifeline of nourishment and dignity for thousands.
Qurban in Myanmar: A Celebration in Silence
In Rakhine State, Myanmar, many Rohingya Muslims cannot even feed their families on Eid.
Under violent oppression and targeted attacks by both military forces and Rakhine insurgents, some families have been forced to celebrate Eid underground—literally hiding to stay alive.
Their lives mirror the suffering of Palestinian families—where joy is shadowed by fear, and festivals are spent under threat. Children grow up without safety, joy, or even the memory of what Eid is meant to be.
Qurban in Bangladesh: Refugees Forgotten
In the crowded refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar, Rohingya families live in extreme poverty, relying completely on aid. Movement restrictions and lack of employment opportunities mean:
- They can’t afford meat—not even once a year.
- Eid comes and goes like any other hard day.
Their children ask for meat, but parents have no means to provide. Your Qurban can restore dignity and hope to these forgotten families.
Qurban in Malaysia: Struggling to Survive
Even in Malaysia, where many Rohingya have taken refuge, families are struggling to make ends meet. Due to high inflation, low wages, and lack of legal work rights, buying meat is a luxury they simply can’t afford.
For refugee children here, Eid often arrives without joy, without new clothes, and without meat on their plates. Your sacrifice can give them something to celebrate.
The Purpose of Qurban – Beyond Rituals
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“The most beloved deed to Allah on the Day of Sacrifice is the shedding of blood [for Qurban]. It will come on the Day of Judgment with its horns, hair, and hooves. Indeed, the blood reaches Allah before it falls on the ground. So be delighted by it.”
(Tirmidhi, Hadith 1493)
Be the Reason They Smile This Eid
With your Qurban, you’re not just offering meat—you’re offering:
1.Nourishment for the hungry
2.Joy for children who forgot how to smile
3.Hope for mothers who’ve lost everything
4.Dignity for fathers struggling in silence
